Change is good.

It's been a hot minute since I last posted on my blog. Life has been busy - besides launching Olfers Consulting, I've been spending my personal time working to focus in on what I really want this blog to be. I've spent some time reformatting and rebranding the blog - now with a new look & feel, I feel reinvigorated to make this a much bigger part of my life. Hope you like it and that you're ready to hear from me a lot more!

I always feel so funny when I tell people I have a lifestyle blog. "It's just about my life and our adventures, my favorite interior design inspirations, local shops and eats and our travels." I'm not the first to blog about these things, so why even bother? Everyone has a story, and this is mine - and my place to tell it. I want to share my perspective and shed light on what it's like to live in the south. If you had told me a decade ago that I'd move south and to Texas of all places, I would have laughed in your face. It's funny how God has a way of showing you His plan and your purpose over time all while growing you as a person.

After living in the NW suburbs of Chicago, Cincinnati, Nashville, Houston and now here (Austin), I feel like I've seen it all. People are different everywhere you go. So is the food. When I lived in the midwest, the weirdest thing I ate was Skyline Chili (OK, to be fair it's pretty weird, but it's home - Google it!) and now the weirdest thing I've eaten was escargot at an indie-French restaurant in East Austin. I've tried everything from egg white cocktails (gross) to Vietnamese, to Argentinian food...I've been exposed to so much culture and vibrant life. It's been a wild ride, I've loved every part of it, and it just keeps getting crazier and better every day! Change is a good thing and after moving this much, I can honestly say it has forced me to grow so much as an individual, as a sister and a daughter, and as a wife. Moving, traveling, eating, learning - all of it grows your spirit and frees you. The world is a big, big place - and this is what it's all about. I'm so excited to share life with y'all!

Since words can be boring, here's a photo-recap of our adventures since my last post (in October...jeesh!)
